The bright yellow flowers of the dandelion inspire children. An adventure is to collect them and make a cream from them. Dandelion cream is a great moisturizer.
Media Education for Kindergarten and Hort
Relief in everyday life, targeted promotion of individual children, independent learning and - without any pre-knowledge already usable by the youngest!
The children get a sand bucket and then go to the dandelion collection. Look where you collect it - not on the dog meadow or next to a busy road. Well suited in cities e.g. also fenced playgrounds.
Collect dandelion.
We collected about 1/2 sand buckets of flower heads and then obtained 3 small glasses of balm.
At home the children spread the dandelion flower heads on a dry cloth. Now they have to dry for about 2 days. Avoid direct sunlight.
After two days:
Place the dried flowers in a pot and cover completely with oil.
Heat the whole to 40-50 degrees and heat for 10-15 minutes.
Remove the pot from the stove and leave for 2-3 hours.
After 2-3 hours:
Heat the whole thing again to 40-50 degrees and heat for 10-15 minutes.
Remove the pot from the stove and leave to stand for 2-3 hours again.
After 2-3 hours:
Now the oil is separated from the flowers. Filtrate the flowers into a glass using a sieve or a mule cloth. Now you have a plant oil extract.
Now you take off 100 ml of this plant oil extract and put it in the refractory glass. Add 5g beeswax.
Fill a pot about 2-3 cm with water and place the laboratory glass with the oil and the beeswax in it. Heat the whole to 40-50 degrees.
If the beeswax is melted, add 15g of shea butter.
Now you can fill the balm in small glasses.
Screw the glasses only when the dandelion balm has fully cooled.
Make sure that the cream is stored dark and cool. It lasts about 1 year.
The cream can be used for creaming on the skin, but also for massage or as a gift. For example, for Mother's Day or as an aftershave for Father's Day.
Have fun!
