Water is very attractive for children. Even more attraction arises when the water is coloured and the children can experiment with it.
A possibility for this can be found here. Food colours are suitable for dyeing. You can find out here how easy this is and what you can still try with coloured water.
Media Education for Kindergarten and Hort
Relief in everyday life, targeted promotion of individual children, independent learning and - without any pre-knowledge already usable by the youngest!
You need 3 small glasses, which you fill up to half with water.
A small pinch of food colour is already used to dye the water.
Gently put the colour powder (or liquid food colour) into the glass and observe how the water dyes.
Color only one water so that you have time to watch.
Let the children tell and marvel.
Repeats the process with the red food color.
You can distribute the paint evenly at the end with the spoon.
Then repeat the process with the blue color.
So you will receive three glasses of bright water colours.
To do this, put out an egg box lid with a kitchen crepe.
Then you put in your glasses with the colored water.
Then cut a handkerchief into narrow strips.
Roll together a strip of the handkerchief 3-4 cm wide.
Then you turn the rolled strip together.
Now put the turned handkerchief to a loop.
Each side of the turned handkerchief now puts you in a different color.
Immediately the colored water starts to pull up on the handkerchief.
You can observe this process.
Both colours pull up to the middle.
The colors touch each other, but they don't mix with each other.
Turn one more handkerchief stiffen together.
Now put it in the blue and red glass.
Watch also here how quickly the colored water dyes the handkerchief.
A nice color game that even smaller children like to watch.
Have fun experimenting! Stay curious!
