1

Initiate the children into the plan. Some children do not like to walk, you can avoid this by, for example, making a treasure hunt or going on a journey of discovery.

2

Select a hiking route together.
But what route times and levels of difficulty can children run?

The routes depend on the age of the children:

Infants from 1 to 3 years of age can go hiking as soon as they can sit stable. For example, in a children's crash. Pay attention to cooling or overheating and often take breaks in which the children can move freely. Some children also like to run themselves. If the track becomes too long then it is helpful to be able to avoid the Kraxe or a Manduca.

Children from 3 to 6 years can handle longer tours of three to four hours. Pay attention to good paths and playful variety.

School children up to 10 years can walk up to five hours. You can also walk steeper paths unproblematic and like to crawl. Pay attention to assistance and appropriate security.

As a rule of thumb, it takes 1.5 x longer to travel with children than with adults.
