On long walks through nature we collect herbs. The children are on the way with the balance bike, so they create slightly longer distances. The breaks for collecting herbs are a welcome change. We collect elderflowers in May and June and dry them to drink them later as tea. You can also make elderflower syrup or elderflower lemonade. The children get to know nature. They get to know the plants and distinguish them in their scent, taste and purpose.

Relief in everyday life, targeted promotion of individual children, independent learning and - without any pre-knowledge already usable by the youngest!
Go out into nature, where you have meadows and fields. The less traffic and the more natural, the better.
On meadow paths in the hallway, you will find the elder bushes at the edge of the path. These flowers bloom in May, June and then have white flowers. The flower dolls fold off with their hands. Make sure that the flowers do not have lice.
Elderflower tea:
Do not wash the flower heads. Shake gently so that small beetles or leaves can fall out. Then place the flower cones on a sheet with newspaper for drying. Then keep the sheet in a dark and dry place.
When the flower heads are dried, shake off the flowers from the stems and keep them in a dark glass. For the tea over 1-2 tbsp with 250 ml of water and let them pull for 5-10 minutes. For example, the tea helps with colds, flu, problems with the bronchi, it is sweaty with fever and it stimulates digestion. It also tastes delicious.
Elderflower lemonade:
Put all the ingredients in a jug, i.e. 10 elderflower daggers, 2 liters of water, juice from a lemon and 4 tablespoons of sugar. Place the jug in the refrigerator for two days and then drain the elderflowers. A delicious elderflower limonand is ready.
Elderflower syrup:
Place in a pot 20 elderflowers in a litre of water, add 1kg of sugar and 6 lemons (bio) sliced. Let the whole for one to two days. Then drain the flower pods and bring the whole to the boil. Then fill the syrup in clean bottles and the elderflower syrup is ready.
