This small styrofoam ship is a very simple ship, which is made of a small piece of styrofoam, a toothpick and a small piece of foil (e.g. foil of packaging). The ship is suitable for experiments, for example, to test the float behavior of different materials. Let yourself be inspired.
Media Education for Kindergarten and Hort
Relief in everyday life, targeted promotion of individual children, independent learning and - without any pre-knowledge already usable by the youngest!
First, prepare a piece of styrofoam, toothpick and a piece of foil (packaging foil, plastic bag, etc.).
Fold the foil once in the middle and cut it to the length of the toothpick.
Then you push the toothpick once in the lower area and once in the upper area through the foil to raise it as a sail. Cut a small slit in a thick foil for it with the scissors.
Alternatively, with a pointed needle, you pierce a hole for the toothpick.
Now you put the toothpick in the middle of a small piece of styrofoam.
The little ship is ready.
Now you fill a vessel with water and put your ship on the water.
Take the test: Is your ship swimming?
First do the experiment and put the parts into the water to test whether the materials: Styrofoam, wood and foil can also swim individually.
After that you build the ship and test again if the ship also swims.
Stay curious and have fun experimenting.
