Bake chestnuts

Autumn, chestnut season!
There is also the baking of the alkali chestnuts really fun.
Place frozen locust bars on a plate for thawing. Cut the soft dough pieces with the knife into about two centimetres wide pieces. Place the cut surface upwards on a baking sheet and bake dark brown in the preheated oven. As the cut areas remain white when baking, the baked locusts look like real chestnuts.

Collect elderflowers – Tea, syrup, lemonade

On long walks through nature we collect herbs. The children are on the way with the balance bike, so they create slightly longer distances. The breaks for collecting herbs are a welcome change. We collect elderflowers in May and June and dry them to drink them later as tea. You can also make elderflower syrup or elderflower lemonade. The children get to know nature. They get to know the plants and distinguish them in their scent, taste and purpose.
