Select and collect items for fishing.
Fill a large bowl half full with water.
Next to the large bowl place a bowl for the fished out part.
Put "swimming parts" (I use small cars) in the water.
Now the child can fish out the floating parts with a small hand sieve.
Fished parts are collected in the small bowl.
Variations:
You can also fish the objects with other aids from the water: e.g. with a spoon, a rounded tweezer or a sugar tong.
