From empty fruit and vegetable boxes you can make beautiful and individual racing cars. These simple soap boxes own themselves for a children's party, a birthday party or simply for a nice occupation. Small racers get their money's worth in a race afterwards and at the end of the race day you can give a certificate. A template for printing can be found here as well as the step-by-step guide. Have fun!
Media Education for Kindergarten and Hort
Relief in everyday life, targeted promotion of individual children, independent learning and - without any pre-knowledge already usable by the youngest!
First find all the materials together. Use what you have at home and what you like.
Tip: It is also suitable for glitter foil or e.g. empty packs of chocolate kisses, as these shine beautifully inside.
Draw a circle on one of the narrow sides. Use the can as a template.
Then you cut out the circle a little smaller with the carpet knife.
Attention when handling the carpet knife - risk of injury! Let an adult help you here.
Test whether you can put the can in the hole as an exhaust or turbodrive. The can should be stable.
Draw a rectangle in the middle of the box. The rectangle should be so large that the child can put in later.
Then cut out the rectangle with the carpet knife. Turn the cardboard around, so that the bottom of the cardboard does not lie on the floor.
Attention when handling the carpet knife - risk of injury! Let an adult help you here.
Then you push out the floor.
Now you cut a narrow strip of clay paper for a license plate or name with the carpet knife or scissors. You adjust the size accordingly to the size of your box.
Then paint the license plate, e.g. like a car, and then write your name on it, for example. Design the label as you like it.
Then you cut lights for the car. For this, use a small glass or a cup as a stencil.
Now stick the lights to the box. Two to the front and two to the back.
Then stick the license plate on her and put the can in the box.
Decorate the sides of the car e.g. with clay paper.
After that you still decorate the front front, e.g. like here with a button.
Once the car is finished, the race can begin.
Here is a racing car with a steering wheel made of cardboard wheels.
Here is a racing car with rear-view mirrors and cockpit.
Here is a racing car with special decoration and with extra headlights.
Have fun doing crafts with children and playing afterwards!
The certificate that must not be missing at the end of a race!
