Plant watering – But right!

Small seedlings and freshly sown plants want to be watered regularly. Since they are so tender, it is better to water them not with a watering can, but with a spray bottle. Depending on the age, it is a great challenge for children to dose the amount of water, because after all, water or spray is really fun. Here you can see the difference.

After you have sown the seeds on the earth, you water them by spraying the seeds and the earth with water.

Garden tip:
?? Uses a spray bottle. Because that's how the seeds and the earth get wet, but the seeds don't swim away.
?? Uses the spray bottle until the plants have rooted sufficiently and are about 5 cm tall.

?Don't pour with the watering can!

Here you can see how the powerful jet of water lets the freshly sown seeds swim. Thus, the seeds accumulate at the edge and in depressions and germinate and grow poorly.

Here you see the much too wet soil in the planter and the swollen seeds.

Garden tip:
?? There are plants that do not like the hard stream of water from a watering can. These include, for example, basil and tomato plants. These should always be poured on the stem of the plant.
?? Observe your plants exactly after watering. Do they leave the leaves hanging? Then don't pour over the leaves but on directly to the earth.
