In this adventure you can see how you can make your own supply with your herbs. The dried herbs can also be used in the kitchen in the cold season. For example as tea or as seasoning herbs in delicious recipes.
Herbs such as thyme, lemon balm, oregano, rosemary and peppermint are suitable for drying.
The herbs basil, lemon basil, parsley, chives and dill are more suitable for freezing. Have fun!

Get your materials ready.
You need a scissors and a small bowl, as well as a piece of kitchen yarn.
Next you choose the herbs you like to dry.
Here lemon balm and peppermint were taken.
Now you cut off the first 10-15 cm of the shoots.
Now gather all the shoots in your bowl.
Next you put a loop with your thread.
Then you follow the thread behind the loop.
Now take the middle thread with two fingers.
And tighten the loop at both ends of the threads.
This creates a "magic loop" with which the herbs can easily be tied together.
Now push the stems of the herbs through the magic loop.
Now you pull the loop tight.
Finally, you hang your herbal bundles in a warm and dry place.
For this purpose a sunny place on the house wall, or a place in the heating cellar is suitable.
The drying time lasts about 2 days. Then you should hang them and keep them in an airtight container. If the herbs hang longer, then the herbs lose a lot of aroma.
The dried herbs pluck from the stems and keep them in a screw glass. So they keep their aroma long. Make sure that the herbs are really dry, because otherwise they will mold.
Have fun harvesting and drying herbs!
