Wash the apple.

Halve the apple.

Place both apple halves on the cutting edge.

With the knife tip two small "eyes" are carved out on an apple half.

The other half of the apple is cut into thin slices. We use these for the feet and gripping pliers. Hold the apple with the tunnel handle and cut in between. More about Tunnel handle and for proper cutting.

Put two thicker carvings aside and cut eight thin carvings from the rest.

Cut two points from the two thick carvings with a knife.

The items of the crab are ready.

Now the children can help to prepare the crab on a plate.

The body is centered. At the side of the eyes the "grape pliers" are placed, at the back left and right four "legs".

The crab is ready.
