Quickly made carnival costumes, with little effort and great effect are in demand with children. Single-coloured t-shirts from adults are particularly suitable to conjure up a disguise for children. A great costume is created from a black shirt and a yellow dishcloth without great sewing skills. Instead of using the sewing machine, all parts can also be fixed with glue. Thus they also stand up to a carnival season without any problems. All parts are cut freely, which makes each raven a unique item. You can find the individual work steps here. Enjoy trying out and celebrating!
Use a black monochrome T-shirt. If you only have one printed shirt available, turn it to the left side. In this case, cut off the labels. The seams do not disturb.
Then fold the dishcloth into a triangle or place it twice. This is important because the fabric of the dishcloth is very thin.
Now fold the triangle half and round the corners. Draw the round edges and then cut them off.
Then you fold the resulting beak again. The fabric is still double.
Now you paint your eyes on a piece of white felt, for which you paint two large arches.
Then you cut your eyes out.
With the help of a small screw glass lid you now paint two small circles on the black felt and cut them out.
Then you put the black circles on the white felt eyes. These are the pupils. Now you stick a black circle on a white felt and sew the black circle with a zigzag stick. The eyes are ready.
Now you put the beak and the two eyes on the table before you.
From the remains of the felt, you now cut small nostrils and a mouth.
After that you put all the items on the T-shirt. While doing so, you push your eyes a little under your beak.
Now attach the parts with pins to the T-shirt.
Tip: Push a box into the T-shirt for this. So you avoid accidentally attaching the back part to it.
First you sew the beak with the yellow thread. Also make sure that you sew the beak only on the front part of the shirt!
Then remove the pins from your beak.
Then you sew your eyes with a white thread.
The underside of the eyes are already sewn through the beak.
Now you put the nostrils and mouth on the beak and stick both on. In addition, you can fix both with a few straight stitches.
Tip: This can also be done with the sewing machine!
The raven t-shirt is ready.
For the performance as a raven sock you just put on a ringed sock.
Finished is a beautiful carnival costume.
Have fun sewing and carnival celebrations!
