Beautiful autumn leaves quickly lose their color as soon as they dry. One way to preserve the colours and shape is to dip them in liquid wax. Melt the remnants of candle wax and gently dip fresh leaves into the liquid wax. To do this, touch the leaf on the stem. Only the leaf is immersed. Hold the stalk and wait for a moment until the wax begins to dry. Then place the leaf on a kitchen crepe or hang it on a string to dry.
Place a pot with wax residues (white or cream wax) to melt on the stove.
Melts the wax slowly.
You use a wooden stick for stirring. It is also suitable for fishing dirt parts, such as wick bars from the wax.
Place a kitchen crepe next to the pot. It is used for drying the leaves.
Now you touch a leaf at the back of the stem. Dip the leaf flat into the liquid wax and pull it out immediately. Do everything very carefully, because the wax is very hot and splashes on the skin ache.
Gently lift the leaf up and hold it briefly above the pot, so that the excess liquid wax can drain off.
If nothing drips anymore, put the leaf carefully on the kitchen crepe to dry.
Repeat the process for all other leaves. Place the leaves side by side when drying.
Once the waxed leaves are dried, you can use them for crafting or decorating.
